Seniors participated in a college application workshop this morning, and applied to NMC. October is College Application Month, and we’d like all seniors to apply to at least one college and complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA workshop for seniors and their parents is Monday at 8 AM.

5th graders practicing the EDP by building bridges.

Going the extra mile... last week in Coach Fitzpatrick’s P.E. class these students all ran a mile and the goal and standard was only 3 laps. Great job Bulldogs!

Senior, Kaimen Bliss, spends his afternoons participating in a work-based learning experience at the Harrietta Hills Trout Farm. He is involved in most aspects of daily fish farm operations, including feeding, cleaning, maintenance, reporting oxygen saturation levels, monitoring fish health, and more. Hands-on science! Keep up the great work, Kaimen!

We have lots of catching up to do with Athletic Announcemnts! Last week on Thursday JH/JV/V Volleyball had a clean sweep of Baldwin. Also on Thursday JV Football fell just short at home against Marion. Friday night has a huge win for the Varsity Football team as they beat Marion 22-0 to remain undefeated in the conference. Also on Friday the JH Co-Ed Club Soccer team beat Buckley 2-0. JV Volleyball made it to the Semi Finals at the Mancelona tournament on Saturday before falling to a tough Lake City team. Monday the JH Volleyball teams split with Marion and last night the JV VB team swept Marion while the Varsity jumped out to a 2 set lead but unfortunately could not hang on and fell just short in the 5th set. Tonight JH Football plays at Baldwin at 7pm. Thursday night the JV Football team plays home against Suttons Bay at 6pm while the Volleyball teams travel to Pentwater for a shot at a Conference Championship. To end the week the Varsity Football team travels to Big Rapids Crossroads Friday night for a WMD match up. We hope to see you out there supporting our hard working student-athletes!

Another successful day for our 4th grade students at the YMCA!

MacEachern’s 1st Graders listened to the story Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds. We are learning about story elements and had to listen for Problem and Solution. At the end we made our own Creepy Carrots. They turned out so unique just like our students!

Mesick JR/SR High will be having picture re-takes on Friday, October 11 from 10 AM until 1 PM. Any students that didn't get their picture taken yet will do so this day and any that need their picture re-taken need to bring their current picture portfolio with them that day.

Mr. Redman standing in for Mr. Charnes to lead the Elementary in our morning announcements. Great job!

All juniors and seniors participated in a career information workshop today to match aptitudes and interests with potential careers. The workshop was based on the ASVAB that students took a couple weeks ago. Although the ASVAB can be used for students planning to join the military, we did not share any of their results with the military. We were using it primarily as a career exploration tool for our students. Hopefully, students gained some useful information about career options.

Fourth grade started the Safety Around Water program at the Cadillac YMCA. This is a great program and a lot of fun for our kids

To Celebrate coming into Mesick for every new Savings/Checking account we will give every NEW Mesick Branch member $25 and the Mesick Robotic team $25. This will run from the opening of the Forest Area Federal Credit Union Mesick location thru November 30th with a Max of $5000.
