Secondary STEM Teacher/Building Substitute (Part Time Teacher, Part Time Substitute)
Preferred Qualifications:
6-12 Secondary science certification (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
Ability to establish positive and long lasting relationships with students, peers, parents, and community
Takes a dynamic and creative approach to education
Desire to connect students to school and instill excitement about learning
Ability to help middle and high school students discover their passions
Ability to bring STEM concepts to life with real world examples
Uses hands on approach to teaching with a focus on project based learning
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practice and student achievement
Proficiency with Michigan science standards and comfortable with technology
Competency in the administration and interpretation of academic assessments
Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
Strong understanding of the use of technology as a tool for student engagement
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (oral and written)
Support and participate in all district and building level school improvement initiatives and plans
Evidence of professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession
Start date: August 20, 2025
Salary TBD – Salary will be determined based on experience and portion of the day in teaching position vs. substitute position.

SCHOOL SAFETY OFFICER
DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS, REPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor or Associate degree in a law enforcement related field is preferred. Under the direction of the superintendent, and in cooperation with the elementary and JR/SR high school principals, the school safety officer coordinates and oversees all aspects of security for the school district. This includes, but is not limited to, day to day activities related to the security of our students, staff, and buildings, as well as the design and implementation of various security drills and procedures. The school safety officer will also assist with the supervision of students in the cafeteria, hallways, and in general throughout the school day.
This is a full-time position. This is not a union position.
