6-12 Grade – Mesick JR/SR High

 Qualifications:

·         NT Endorsement / MA and School Counseling License or ability to obtain.

·         Previous experience working as a Middle or High School Guidance Counselor.

·         Must be knowledgeable of Common Core State Standards as well as workforce and college readiness standards.

·         Strong understanding of and comfort with the use of technology in educational setting.

·         Ability to coordinate work based learning experiences with local businesses.

·         Ability to implement strategies to meet the academic, developmental, social-emotional, and post-secondary needs of all students.

·         Ability to connect students with academic, career, and health resources (locally and beyond), in order to ensure success.

·         Competency in the administration and interpretation of academic testing.

·         Experience with scheduling software (PowerSchool) preferred.

·         Ability to establish and maintain positive and long lasting relationships with students, peers, parents, and community.

·         Support and participate in all district and building level school improvement initiatives and plans.

·         Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practice and

            student achievement.

 Salary dependent on experience (aligned with the teacher salary schedule).  We honor years of service.

 4 ¼ hours per day - this is a union position.

Position to be paid per Master Contract with MESPA

Supervisor:  Randy Teichman

 Mesick Schools will pay for all required training.

Must have CDL Class B License with P, S and air brake endorsements.

Must sign release of driving record from Michigan State Police.

Must be State/FBI fingerprinted.
