This week, students in Mrs. Hallett’s High School STEM class transitioned from the classroom to the field—literally! As part of their Earth Sciences curriculum, students designed and activated model volcanoes to observe chemical reactions and geological simulations firsthand! There’s nothing like a little hands-on STEM learning to make science unforgettable!

The Mesick High School Robotics team, Chronic Robophobia, took center stage at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting!
Our talented student engineers showcased the latest upgrades to their robot, demonstrating the technical precision and problem-solving skills they’ve been honing all season.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the School Board to see firsthand the impact of STEM education in our district.
A huge thank you to the board for their continued support and to our students for their hard work and dedication!

Celebrating Reading Month with our littlest learners! 📚✨
School Board President Sally Flatman visited our kindergarteners to share her favorite stories and teach us all about borrowing books from the Mesick Public Library.
Our kiddos were such attentive listeners and, as always, absolutely loved story time!
The fun didn’t stop there—we rocked our best outfits for Stripes Day and spent time honing our architecture skills for Make-a-Fort Friday. We can’t wait to cozy up and read under our blanket forts! 🏰🔦
It’s clear the reading bug is catching; we even spotted one of our students hosting her own private story time for her stuffed animal friends during play.

We would like to give a BIG shout-out to our 5 varsity powerlifters for making the state meet, and also performing at a high level this past Saturday at Lake Orion High School, where the annual Powerlifting State Championship was held. All of our athletes were in the top 10 of their weight divisions: For our girls, Brooklyn Guenther finished 2nd, earning State Runner-Up, Emerie Flatman was 6th place, and Celeste Hallett was 8th place. On the boys' side, Cody Linna took 5th place and Josh Walker 9th. Also, our girls' team finished 9th out of over 100 of the top teams in the state. We are very proud of the efforts by our Coach Jon Hallett and our athletes throughout the season. Mesick is definitely on the map in Michigan for our powerlifting program. Thank you to everyone who provides support to our athletes, our coach, and our program.

Hello Everyone! 🐾
I am constantly amazed by how this community steps up for our students! We know many of you want to help but aren't always sure what’s needed. While you’re out shopping at Walmart, TJ Maxx, or Meijer, keep an eye out—there are some incredible clearance deals right now on items that would perfectly stock our student clothing closets!

To help get these items to the kids who need them, I’ll be hosting a Coat, Snowpants, Boots, and Shoe Drive UNTIL this Friday, March 13th.

What we need:
Elementary: Youth sizes in shoes/boots; coats and snowpants sizes YXS – YXL.
6th–12th Grade: Adult shoe/boot sizes 7 – 14; coats sizes AS – AXL.
Drop-off Info:
Please bring donations to the Jr/Sr High Office. I will make sure all elementary-sized items are delivered to the lower building!

A huge thank you from the Counseling Department in both buildings for your continued generosity!
Email Ms. Bush with any questions at busha@mesick.org

This year's "Money for Mutts" campaign was a huge success! It was a total "dog-eat-dog" competition, but our Bulldogs proved they have the biggest hearts! We can't thank all those who donated enough! The freshmen and sophomore classes battled to the very end, with less than a dollar difference before lunch on the last day of the competition.! The sophomores will have their popcorn and movie on Friday morning. (It is looking like they will be missing 2nd and 3rd hours.) H.A.N.D.D.S To The Rescue will receive a check for $1,154.82, making them the real winners!

🏆 THE LEADERBOARD:
🥇 SOPHOMORES (10th): $500.85 — TOP DOGS!
🥈 FRESHMEN (9th): $407.35
🥉 7th GRADE: $103.00
8th GRADE: $74.78
12th GRADE: $42.62
6th GRADE: $20.22
11th GRADE: $6.00

Grand Total=$1,154.82
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated!

"Stop, Drop, and Read" was a total hit! Our Kindergarteners crushed it—they found the perfect books, grabbed their favorite stuffies, and tucked into cozy spots for some serious reading fun!

We invited some guest readers to come read us stories this month to celebrate March is Reading Month.

Our first guest reader was our school board treasurer, Ashlee McCormick. She shared a couple of fun Dr Seuss stories. She was impressed by our good listening skills. We love hearing good stories and she was a great reader!!
