The Bulldogs had a great day at Regionals in Benzie today. The highlights: 15 athletes took home personal or season records. 3 athletes earned All-Region honors. Kyle Redman was Regional Champion for the second time of his career. Ty Redman was Runner-up and Alyssa Spicer was 9th. 7 athletes are headed to state finals next week! The Boys team of Kyle Redman, Ty Redman, Kyle Doty, Alex Kastl, Gunnar Hallett and Harper Musta took 3rd place, qualifying for state finals for the first time since 1988! The girls team of Alyssa Spicer, Jewlia Trowbridge, Paula Cuadra, Krystal Staffen, Hayley Williams and Hayden Petitt took 6th place, their best finish since 2010, with Alyssa qualifying as an individual. She is the first Mesick girl to qualify for state finals since assistant coach Kari Musta (Dinsmore) in 2005. The JV team of Shawn Haselton, Tony Powell, Connor Hiday and Logan Simerson as well as 8th grader Wyatt Musta competed in the PROM race and all 5 earned personal or season bests for 5K. Alyssa's 20:05 and Kyle's 15:40 are new school records! Great job Bulldogs!

Junior High Cross Country wrapped up their season on Wednesday at the MHSAA Middle School Regional in Cadillac. The boys and girls races were each ran as one big race, then separated into big and small school divisions. The Bulldogs ran well in what was for most of them their final junior high race. A huge shout-out to our 7th and 8th-grade students for their academic success! We recognized their incredible accomplishments during a special assembly this week, celebrating everyone who made the Honor Roll or achieved straight A's last semester. Way to go, Bulldogs!

Kindergartners worked out our hand muscles today with a fun cutting and glueing monster craft! BOO!

We celebrated academic excellence today with a special assembly in the Jr./Sr. High, honoring our 9th-12th grade students for their outstanding achievement and for being on the Honor Roll or for earning straight A's during the last academic semester. Nice job, Bulldogs!

Second grade welcomed Mr. Webb from the ISD for a special virtual field trip, taking us all the way to Ancient Greece to complement our knowledge unit.

Tomorrow's home JV football game against Holton is canceled.

What an incredible homecoming week last week! 🎉 We are so grateful to everyone in our amazing community for making it so memorable! From the hard work in planning the fun dress-up days to the generosity with candy donations for the parade, businesses writing on windows, and even the help of organizing a wonderful tailgate at the game, it truly made it a fantastic celebration for our students and community! 🎃 Jr. High Halloween Dance! 👻

Get ready to party! The junior high Halloween dance is Friday, October 31st, from 3:05 to 3:05–4:30. Wear your best Halloween costume to be entered into a spook-tacular costume contest!

All admission money is used to fund the Jr. High Dances and other Student Council activities. Please contact Ms. Roda with any questions.

Last week the kindergarten classes took their first field trip of the year to the pumpkin patch! The students got to meet lots of animals, take a wagon ride, enjoy cider and donuts, and take a pumpkin home. Thank you to all the chaperones and everyone at Pahl's Pumpkin Patch for a wonderful afternoon!

Join us for our annual Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31st.

Time: The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. with kindergarten to start, and the rest of the classes will follow.

Parents who wish to walk in the parade: Please meet your child at the preschool doors.

Parents will not be permitted to enter the building before or after the parade unless arrangements have been made with the classroom teacher and proper forms have been completed.
