Congratulations goes out to our bands at MSBOA District Festival today in McBain. The Junior High band received a 2nd division rating, representing an "excellent performance"; while the zhigh School Band received a 1st division rating, representing an "outstanding performance". Great job band students!!!

Today the John Ball Zoo made a visit to the elementary. Students got a hands on experience learning about the many animals of the world.

Congratulations to our girls varsity basketball team on a huge win vs Marion on a buzzer beater last night! It was a great win during snowball week! Tonight the JV girls are back in action at 430 vs Baldwin. The JV boys will be playing Baldwin at 6pm and the Varsity boys will also square off against Baldwin at 730. All games are in the High School. Tomorrow our 3/4 graders are at the elementary school for 9 and 10 am games while the 5th grade boys play at 11 and 12. All elementary boys games will be at the elementary school this week. Also tomorrow we will be hosting the special olympics at the high school. It's a busy week for Mesick basketball and we hope to see you out showing your support! Go Bulldogs!

Last week our second-grade students were showing off their strength and balance during P.E. class with Coach Fitzpatrick. Our students work hard every day to better themselves in all aspects of their education. Go Bulldogs!
Thank you all who have donated to the Art Room Pop Can Drive this year so far. We collected 1, 118 cans! This money will be spent on daily supplies used in the art room! We are still collecting pop cans through the end of the school year. Please drop them off to the Mesick JR/SR High during school hours. Receipts accepted as well. Again, thank you Mesick for supporting the arts!

Todays girls varsity basketball game has been rescheduled for tomorrow night at 6 pm vs Lake Leelanau St. Mary. We will also have the 7th grade girls in action at home vs Brethren at 5:30 while the boys JV/V are on the road at Walkerville. Good luck to our student-athletes and we hope to see you at the game!

Bridge Magazine ranked schools based on several factors, the methodology, and data analysis, independently developed by Public Sector Consultants, a public policy research firm in Lansing, takes into account the impact of poverty by analyzing how districts across Michigan perform compared with districts of similar socioeconomic levels.
The school breakdown is as follows:
Elementary 315 out of 2203
Middle School - 829 out of 2203 this is based on 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
High School - 163 out of 674
These scores are noteworthy, any time you are able to score in the top third of all schools in the State of Michigan. Our goal is to be #1! I know the students and staff are working very hard to accomplish this goal! We want our students to continue to learn locally and compete globally!
