Due to Executive Order No. 2020-160 we will be changing the location of the board meeting that is scheduled for Monday, August 10 at 6:00. We will be holding the board meeting under the pavilion on the south side of the elementary school. This will allow the public to attend and allow for social distancing.

Today the grass on our outdoor athletic fields will be getting treated. We ask that everyone please stay away from the fields for the next 48 hours. Thank you and have a great day!

With the official return to Fall Sports starting Monday, August 10th, here are some reminders: Mesick Student-Athletes who have a sports physical from the 2019-2020 school year will not be required to get a new physical for this school year. Instead, a MHSAA health questionnaire will be required and is available at the MHSAA website, in the main office of the high school, or will be provided by a head coach. Any students new to Mesick Schools will need to have their previous school send over a physical form to Coach Duby dubyk@mesick.org. JV/V Football will begin practice Monday August 10th, while JV/V Volleyball and Varsity Cross Country will begin on Wednesday, August 12th. JH Football, JH Volleyball, JH Cross Country, and the JH Co-Ed Soccer team are eligible to begin practice on Monday, August 24th. Please make sure all student-athletes report to practice with the appropriate attire, a face mask, and their own water bottle. Coaches will be conducting Covid-19 screenings prior to every practice. If you have not yet signed up for a Fall sport, it is not too late! We are still signing student-athletes up for all of the Fall sports, including our Cross Country team who is coming off of a fantastic 2019 season. Cross Country is an excellent option for those who love to run, want to stay active, or are looking for a way to get in shape for Winter and Spring sports. We offer Cross Country at the Junior High and High School levels. Please email Coach Duby at dubyk@mesick.org to get signed up or with any questions you may have! Stay safe and Go Bulldogs!

Cash Opportunity for the Class of 2021: A letter was mailed home a few weeks ago about a new program we will be implementing for your class. Our program is called College-Bound Mesick, & it includes a few different exciting initiatives.
For right now, we'd like you to focus on the first step of the first initiative - “6 Steps to $600.” We received a grant to promote the College Board’s Opportunity Scholarships & the steps included in applying for them. There are six steps in the program, including building a college list, updating your college list, applying to colleges, practicing for the SAT, improving your score from your PSAT/NMSQT that you took last fall, & completing your FAFSA. Our initiative offers you a chance to win $600 for completing these six steps. Any member of the Mesick Class of 2021 who completes these six steps will be entered into a drawing for $600; this drawing is only for Mesick students, so one of you will win! Each of these steps also enters you into the College Board’s scholarship competitions, so you have a chance at even more money. These are steps we would like all of our students to be taking, so we wanted to offer an incentive to you for completing the steps. The first step is building your college list on the College Board website, & that needs to be done by the end of July. You have two weeks left to complete this step! You can probably complete this step in a half hour or less. Please take the time to follow the instructions below.
Login to your College Board account.
Scroll to the bottom & click on Opportunity Scholarships.
Use the search engine to find colleges that might be possibilities for you.
Save at least six colleges to your college list by July 31.
Email Mrs. Rasmussen with any questions. :-)

Because of the current guidelines on social distancing and gathering indoors, the July 31st prom at Greystone is cancelled. It will not be rescheduled. We were hoping for a better outcome and apologize for the inconvenience this causes.
