Tonight's JH Football game and HS Cross Country meet have been canclled due to severe weather in the forecast. Please check with coaches for updated practice plans.
We have a lot of Athletics information to share with you! First we would like to congratulate JV/V Volleyball and the Varsity Football team for their big wins on Thursday and Friday. Also, on Saturday Grant Fleis took 17th at the Cross Country meet in Buckley. Tonight we have Junior High VB at Brethren at 5:30. Also our Co-Ed Junior High Soccer Club Team will be playing their first game of the season tonight at Benzie at 5. Wednesday JH FB will be playing home vs Baldwin at 6. Also, on Wednesday Cross Country (4:15) and JH VB (5:30) will be at Bear Lake. Thursday, JV FB is at Onekama and JV/V VB is at Bear Lake. Friday the Varsity Football team will be home vs Baldwin and Saturday JV/V VB is @ Manton. Schedule changes: we have now combined multiple JH VB games with the JV/V. The JH VB games on 9/18, 9/23, and 9/25 have now been moved to 5pm on 9/19, 9/24, and 9/26 and will be played at the same locations as they were originally scheduled. The JH girls will play right before the JV and Varsity teams on those dates. We have made these changes due to many conference opponents only having one JH VB team. Hello Mesick Elementary Bulldog Families,
It has been an amazing start to the 2019-2020 school year! Last week we had a heavy focus on daily routines and teaching building expectations (ex: walking quietly in the halls, etc.). Today we introduced our Mesick Consolidated Schools Core Values. Students have done a fantastic job learning what it means to be a Bulldog! This is going to be a great school year!
Elementary picture day is Monday, Sept. 16th. If your student hasn't brought home an order form, they are on the way! You can also order online.
Junior High Cheerleading will have sign ups today and tomorrow in the Elementary Cafeteria from 3:30 to 4:30. Practice will begin on Monday, September 16th from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Elementary Cafeteria. Please contact Coach Charlene Mccullough or Coach Amy McCoy for any additional information.
Some athletic updates/reminders: Our JV/V Girls Volleyball team will be playing at Brethren tonight at 6pm in their first conference game of the season. Good Luck Girls! Also, the boys Varsity Football team will be playing at Forest Area tomorrow night at 7pm. Saturday morning the Cross Country team will be running at Buckley at 9 am. We hope to see everyone out supporting our athletes as the first week of school comes to a close. Another JV Football update: The away game vs Au Gres on 10/17 has been cancelled. We have not found a make up game at this point. Also, the home game on 10/3 vs Baldwin was cancelled but we were able to recover the game with Suttons Bay. Mrs. Parrish's 2nd graders took some time to "find friends" that shared similar interests with them. This activity allowed us to fit in some movement and start to build our classroom community!
Attention Parents of 6th-12th grade students. The adolescent wellness center is having a drawing for a $25 gift card. Just stop by the JR/SR High office to fill out a consent form for your student by this Friday and your name will be entered in the drawing.
A few sports announcements: First we would like to wish good luck to our JV Football team as they are playing their season opener in Mio tonight. Secondly, the Varsity Football team has their home opener tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm in Mesick. We hope to see everyone out to support them. Also, our JV/V Volleyball teams have their home opener Tuesday, September 3rd in Mesick at 5:30 pm (originally 6pm). Cross Country will host their home opener on Wednesday, September 18th at 4:15 in Mesick. We are very excited about our Fall sports teams and we are hoping to see everyone out showing their support!!
Mesick Elementary and Mesick Junior/Senior High School would like to remind of our Open House on Wednesday, August 28 from 5:00-7:00 PM. We will be serving dinner from 5:00-6:30. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Mesick Alumni Women's Volleyball Game this Saturday, August 24th at 5 pm in the High School Gym! $25 to register. Spectator Admission $3 or $10/family. All proceeds will go to the Mesick Volleyball program.
The Junior High Football Team will have equipment handout out tomorrow evening from 5 - 8 pm. Please make sure that a physical is present at equipment handout if you have one completed. Also, there will be a Parents Meeting at 8:00 pm tomorrow night for the parents of Varsity, JV, and JH players. It is highly recommended to attend this meeting if you are able too. Reminder to students and parents that this Wednesday, August 21, 2019 is the student schedule release between the hours of 1-7 PM at Mesick JR/SR High School. Please bring in your updated and signed student information sheets, which were mailed home earlier this summer, in order to receive a class schedule. It's very important that your student's information is up to date annually. There will be a 9th grade parent meeting at 4 PM and a 6th grade parents meeting at 5:30 PM. Attached to the students schedules this year you will find a form that needs to be completed for all students; this is a form that is required for the Community Eligibility Provision which provides all students with a healthy breakfast and lunch at NO CHARGE. Picture forms will also be attached. Mesick JR/SR High pictures will be on Friday, September 6, 2019. Other optional forms and information will be available as well.
