Hi Mesick families! More mindfulness today. Remember, mindfulness is about attention, intention, and attitude. It helps lower anxiety and stress, and increase positive moods; it can help us recognize and regulate emotions, and improve our self-control. In today’s post, there are links to two sample mindfulness videos. One is a mindful owl and best suited for 3rd grade and under. https://youtu.be/0k_R7R1gIdA The other video is a two minute affirmation song for listening and breathing (I’ve told folks to breathe in as colors appear, and breathe out as they start to disappear). It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our West Michigan D League conference championship with our football team! Well, it's now almost May and our football coaches would like to get in touch with those wanting to play this Fall! If you or your child will be entering grades 9-12, please email Coach Otto Ream at ottoream4@gmail.com to sign up for JV/V football. School breakfast and lunch will continue next week. Pick-up times will be from 10:30-11:30 in the elementary parking lot on Tuesday, May 5 and Thursday, May 7. You will receive meals for the week these days. Deliveries for the week will be on Tuesday, May 5. We will be doing our deliveries with our buses again so, please be watching for a bus. Some deliveries will still be made by vehicles. Deliver orders need to be submitted before 9:00 AM on Sunday, May 3. It’s a little break to give your thoughts a chance to rest, and creates space to help you figure out your emotions and feel CALM. They also offer hints to help make your kids’ artwork the best it can be and your child draws along with Drew and Rosie. Grades K-3 Parents & Students, Kids Read Now, Summer Reading Program is still on. Please look below for a few updates. Books will be mailed directly to your homes rather than the school for a Family Reading Event. Weekly mailings will begin at the beginning of May rather than June to make sure your child/children have books when they need them the most. A Parent Guide will also be included in the first mailing. Each student will be mailed their first four books. Please remember to report books read to KRN via text, phone call, or e-mail to receive your child's remainder of the 9 books. KRN will then begin our weekly reporting calls the first week of June. KRN will have an opportunity for virtual Family Reading Events to help inform families about the program! More information on this will follow

School breakfast and lunch will continue this week as usual, but there will be a new schedule starting Thursday, April 30th for family pick up only. Starting Thursday, April 30th we will only be at the Elem parking lot on Tuesday & Thursdays. 10:30am-11:30am. On Tuesday we will be handing out Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday meals. On Thursday we will be handing out Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday meals. Next week the van will be in the parking lot Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday since this will start on Thursday, April 30th. Transport Delivery for the week with the buses and vehicles will not be affected and you will still receive your drop of food for the entire week on Tuesday's.

Hello Everyone, For those of you that signed up to check-out a Chromebook during our distance learning time, they will be available for pick-up on Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28 from 4:00-6:00 outside the Mesick Jr/SR High School Office, drive through style. Parents will need to pick up as they will need to sign a consent form.
