During a special assembly today, Jack Trowbridge was inducted into the Navy as an honorary sailor. Although Jack is unable to join in the traditional sense, he loves the Navy & has had several family members serve in it. He has made strong connections with the Navy staff & recruits who have been visiting our school this year (one of whom is also named Jack); he hugs them, hangs out with them, & refers to them as his brothers. They wanted to honor him & his love for the Navy through this ceremony. The band played the National Anthem & the Navy Hymn, a Navy official swore him in, & he was presented with a certificate, a uniform, & a Navy drone. Several family members & Navy officers were in attendance to help support Jack on this special occasion.

Exciting News!

Kim Lint was a beloved kindergarten teacher here in Mesick for 34 years, who just retired last year. Mrs. Lint touched and blessed so many lives in her teaching career here; she had a real gift for building relationships with students. It is with great sadness we share that she passed away last night after a short, unexpected illness. She will certainly be missed. Students were informed of Mrs. Lint's death at school today. Our counselors are available to them if they need a place to talk or cry. Please keep the family in your thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.

Congratulations to the junior high participants at MSBOA District Solo and Ensemble yesterday! All of our students medalled - with 3 students being eligible for Honors Band! Great performances.
