As may have heard, there was an accident on M-115 near N. 9 Road after school today involving one of our buses. Our bus was rear-ended by another vehicle. Thankfully, no one was injured and all students were transferred to another bus and driven home. . The driver of the bus was uninjured and able to remain calm and support the students as they awaited the arrival of the other bus. Mr. Akom, Mr. Fowler and Mr. Charnes all went to the scene to assist in safely transferring the students to the other bus. Once again, we are very thankful that no one was injured and that all of our students are safe.

First Graders went on a leaf hunt this week, we used them to make fall collages. We have talked about seasons and why trees change colors.

Hello Parents/Guardians of 6th-12th grade students. The Mesick Adolescent Wellness Center will be hosting a flu immunization clinic in October! This clinic will take place during school hours. A date will be determined when there is a better idea of how many people are getting vaccinated. Please call Andrea, the nurse at the Wellness Center, at (231) 306-3010 or email her at afeister@dhd10.org to schedule your child for a flu vaccine. Parental consent must be obtained prior to your child receiving a flu vaccine. This can be completed over the phone. Please contact Andrea if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you. Andrea Feister, BSN, RN

Third graders celebrated the end of the government unit by conducting a mock trial. Students had to participate in a trial for Gold E. Locks and the crime of using “bad manners” against the Bear Family. We sure had a blast!

Great news! As you may have heard, we are able to open up spectator numbers to 250 for indoor events and 500 for outdoor events. It’s about doing what we need to do so kids can keep competing in sports. See you soon!

Congrats to the varsity football team for a great win against Marion tonight. The final score was Mesick 43 Marion 22.

It’s always fun to come to school and find a friend dressed like you.

Tonight is our first home varsity football game. Due to restrictions on crowd sizes, players and band members are only allowed 2 guests each. Unfortunately, this means that students and community will currently not be able to attend as spectators unless they are the guest of a player. We have set up a live stream that will be available on our YouTube channel located at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZEctxCtQyvEKdXBEBQ_WfQ

Reminder elementary picture day is Monday, September 21.

Athletic Announcements: Tonight's JV/V Volleyball game will now be a Varsity only contest starting at 6pm in Mesick. We will still be enforcing the two spectators per participant rule for this contest (four spectators are allowed for athletes with four parents). Also for JV football parents, tonight's contest at Marion is also limited to two spectators (four spectators with four parents). Tickets were not disbursed yet but you are still able to attend! Just check in at the ticket gate and you will be all set! Please make sure to social distance and wear your mask at all times. This goes for all indoor/outdoor events whether we are competing home or away. Have a great day and Go Bulldogs!
