More pictures from today’s 1st Grade Field trip to Bull Farms!

Today Mesick first grade students visited Bull Farms. They went on a hay ride, got to see a combine in action, received t-shirts and a goodie bag, and much more. They learned so much today it’s to long to list, and they had a lot of fun! A big thanks to Bull Farms for hosting us and giving our kids a memorable experience.

Attention students & staff: Please wear your college shirt tomorrow!
October is College Application Month in Michigan.
*Staff & students in grades K-12 are encouraged to wear college shirts on Thursdays throughout the month. The class with the highest percentage participation in wearing college shirts will get an ice cream party at the end of the month.
*Teachers will be sharing a little about their college experience with their classes each Thursday.
*Many colleges waive their application fees for October, so seniors are encouraged to apply to colleges this month.
*When we use the term "college," we are referring not only to universities, but also community colleges, technical & trade schools, apprenticeships, & military service/education; we want all students to consider these options as they plan for the future.
*Our goal is for all Mesick students to graduate with a plan in place, so they can earn a good living. To support this goal, staff & students are encouraged to wear their college gear on Thursdays in October.

This week the Michigan State police visited Mesick Elementary’s third, fourth, and fifth grade students to discuss Internet safety. Students learned about how to browse safely, how to look for dangers on the Internet, and who to tell if they see something inappropriate. I’d like to thank the Michigan State police for visiting Mesick schools and for keeping our student safe.

The 4th grade class went on their first trip to the YMCA today to participate in the Safety Around Water class. This is a great program for our kids, and we are very happy that they are able to attend. And if you look closely at the pictures, you might recognize one of the instructors. That's right, the kids had the pleasure of having Mrs. Fortelka as their instructor...once a Bulldog always a Bulldog!

Elementary gym is finished!
