Seniors participated in the “Life Unplugged” financial simulation put on by Michigan Works. Students had unique life scenarios assigned (salary, marital status, number of children, etc) and went through a series of stations to simulate the financial choices they will be faced with after graduation. A big thanks to our volunteers!

Algebra 1 students are having fun participating in a new math program this year. It is called CPM and it is focused on problem solving, collaboration, teamwork, and critical thinking. These are the skills employers /colleges are demanding from today’s graduates.

We had some major accomplishments last week in Athletics! First off... Volleyball: Girls Varsity Volleyball finished the season in 2nd place in the WMD Conference, Girls JV Volleyball finished the season undefeated in conference play, and our JH Girls took 1st play in the conference tournament this past Saturday. Coach Quiggin, Hallett, and Spoor have done a fantastic job! Please not that the parents night/senior night is this Wednesday at home vs Glen Lake at 5:30 pm. Come out and support the girls in their last home event of the season.
Also last week, Varsity football won big over Bear Lake to keep our playoff hopes alive! The boys are currently 4-4 and travel to Suttons Bay this Friday night in a "Win and your in" scenario. Everyone make sure to get out to Suttons Bay Friday night to cheer them on!
Another announcement: JH Basketball begins Monday October 22nd at 5:30 pm at the Elementary with Coach Hall. Everyone must have a physical handed in and practices will be every night from 5:30-7:00. Schedules can be found on the Mesick Consolidated Schools app that you can find in the playstore or itunes.

This years group of National Honor Society inductees are practicing for tonight’s ceremony. They will become official NHS members tonight at 7:00 in the JR High gymnasium. The ceremony will be followed by a dessert reception.

We had a wonderful golf outing this past Saturday to raise money for the Mesick School’s band and athletics. A big thank you to Antioch Hills Golf Club for their continued support.
