Huge congratulations to Mr. Castillo’s woodworking students for their incredible showing at the MITES 2026 competition last week! It was a fantastic year of craftsmanship and dedication.

Students brought home impressive rankings at both the Regional and State levels:

🏆 Top Honors
• Alayna Smith: Earned 1st Place at both Regionals and States, as well as the prestigious Divisional Award.
(The Divisional Award recognizes the best overall woodworking project for all 9th and 10th grade projects)
• Joel Chisolm: Secured 1st Place at Regionals and 2nd Place at States.
• Aiden Otto: Took 1st Place at Regionals and received Honorable Mention at States.
• Zoey Acre: Won 1st Place at Regionals and 3rd Place at States.

Joshua Begg has also put in a lot of time and effort into an outstanding desk, which wasn't entered into MITES but will be finished soon!
