Bulldog

March 12, 2020

Dear Parents,

I wanted to update you with some information regarding COVID-19.  It has been an interesting couple of days with information continuing to evolve as health organizations continue to gather more information regarding the virus.  The health and safety of our students and staff are our highest priorities.

We have received guidance to direct people to the CDC website as the restrictions and guidance are changing based on what they are learning about COVID-19.  Please visit the CDC website providing up to date situational information and guidance. www.cdc.gov

We are working with the Health Department on preparedness and communication around COVID-19. Mesick Schools will continue to work with health professionals and other experts to develop a response plan.

  • Currently, we do not have any after school events scheduled to have more than 100 people in attendance.

  • This weekend’s State Solo and Ensemble Festival has been canceled by MSBOA

  • This weekend's volleyball tournament in Manton has been canceled.

  • We are working with vendors and Walt Disney World to evaluate options for the spring break band trip to Walt Disney World.

  • We will continue cleaning daily and disinfecting the buildings and buses

  • We will review hand washing techniques and good hygiene with our students

  • We will continue to seek out guidance from health professionals

  • We are meeting to develop plans to potentially offer different educational learning environments.

  • We will continue sending students home if they are sick

Please remember, there are NO confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our area.

If you could help us with the following

Please remind your children to:

  • Wash their hands the proper way and frequently (scrubbing with soap for at least 20 seconds)

  • Cough/sneeze into their elbow

  • Keep your children home if they are sick (fever free for 24 hours before returning to school)

We will do the best we can to communicate any changes that may arise.

Blessed to be Bulldog,

Scott Akom - Superintendent
