IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR MESICK CONSOLIDATED SCHOOLS VOTERS

The non-homestead operating millage renewal proposal on the November 5th ballot will not affect taxes on your primary residence (home).  The millage applies mainly to businesses and second homes.

If your primary residence is within the Mesick Consolidated School District, the non-homestead operating millage renewal will have no impact on your tax rate—none!

However, all registered voters living in the Mesick Consolidated School District can vote on the non-homestead operating millage renewal.  Here’s what your vote means:

 A YES vote will

•           NOT affect taxes on your primary residence (home).  (The non-homestead operating millage applies mainly to businesses and second homes.)

    •       allow the school district to continue to levy the number of operating mills required to receive revenues at the full per pupil allowance permitted by the State.

•           generate $1.3 million in annual operating revenue for school district programs and services.

•           renew the non-homestead operating millage approved by voters in 2014.

A NO vote will…

•           NOT affect taxes on your primary residence (home).

•           mean a loss of $1.3 million in annual revenue for school district programs and services.

•           mean reductions in programs for students and services to the community.

The non-homestead operating millage proposal will not affect taxes on your home if you live in the Mesick Consolidated School District.  However, voter approval of the millage will generate $1.3 million for school programs and services.

Please make sure you vote at the polls on Tuesday, November 5th.
