Elementary Teacher

Two Full-Time Positions Available

 

Must be State of Michigan certified and highly qualified for grades K-5 self-contained classroom.

Additional certifications a plus.

 Minimum requirements:

¨ State of Michigan certified and highly qualified for grades K-5 self-contained classroom.

¨ Support and participate in all district and building level school improvement

¨ initiatives and plans.

¨ Ability to provide instruction in technology.

¨ Ability to complete all paperwork, reporting deadlines and interface with various stakeholders as required for all students. 

¨ Ability to serve in a teacher leader capacity when required.

¨ Ability to develop strong supportive parent/guardian relationships.

¨ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practice and student achievement.

¨ Evidence of commitment to professional growth.

¨ Evidence of professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SUCCESS WORKER

FULL-TIME POSITION

Position to begin with the start of the 2017-2018 school year.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree or higher with current certification/licensure in elementary education, counseling, social work and/or educational leadership

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with building administrator to support teachers’ efforts in reaching growth goals in the classroom and with individual students

· Help with plans to refocus students with behavioral, attendance and/or academic struggles

· Communicate effectively and regularly with staff, students, and families

· Assist with supervision of students throughout the day

· Maintain accurate discipline, attendance and other data required for district, state, and federal reports

· Establish positive relationships with parents, parent groups, volunteers and outside agencies

· Possess knowledge & ability to apply best practices and current research in helping staff, students, and families

· Communicate clearly and timely with staff and parents in developing behavior plans & supports for students

· Participate in team meetings, the school improvement process, and staff professional development sessions

· Participate in RTI and MTSS planning and implementation

· Assist teachers in maintaining a classroom atmosphere and environment conducive to learning and highest student achievement

· Be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention

· Assist and work with recess/cafeteria staff on creating positive recess practices

JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL

HIGHLY QUALIFIED

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

 Qualifications:

 · K-12 Special Education Certification required

· Must be knowledgeable of Common Core State Standards and strategies to meet the

      academic, developmental, and social-emotional needs of students

· Competency in the administration and interpretation of academic testing and development

      of behavior support plans

· Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective, and long lasting relationships with students, peers, parents and community

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (oral and written)

· Strong understanding of and comfort with the use of technology in educational setting

· Support and participate in all district and building level school improvement initiatives and plans.

· Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practice and student achievement.

· Evidence of commitment to reflective practice and professional growth

· Evidence of professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession

 Reports to JR/SR High School Principal.
